#OnePoundPoems + OOMK + Calais

2015_opp_oomk_donations_poster

Hey, so the One Pound Poems experiment continues. It’s even got it’s own shiny new website which you can find here: onepoundpoems.com.

I’m bringing it to the OOMK Future Library Publishing Fair and we’re donating all proceeds to the Calais Refugee Crisis. I know, they’re only £1 per poem. But every bit helps, and actually, you might be surprised how many poems we knock out at these fairs. Plus I’ve been selling a few package-y things for extra ££s. And this time, we’ll put out a tip jar.

We’ve also been secretly donating proceeds from our OnePoundPoem adventures to refuge relief efforts in Calais.

So far we have contributed funds to a carpenter who went to build shelters and bring supplies, including a giant cooking pot and fire extinguishers purchased with our pounds. We have also purchased tents, sleeping bags, and warm socks. These will be delivered straight to a warehouse that distributes supplies in Calais.*

But the Holiday season ain’t over yet. Winter is coming and there is always more to do. Soooo….if you are coming to the OOMK Future Library Publishing Fair, please consider bringing some donations!

We’ll be collecting goods on the night and then sending them off to Calais and further afield to organisations responding to the refugee crisis. We’ll also be donating our OPP pounds to the cause.
